FREE Soil & Compost Tea Workshop At the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council
December 05, 2010Sunday, December 5. 12pm to 1pm.
David Perkins will lead a fascinating workshop on the new leading science of using actively aerated compost tea to enhance the health of any garden. David is a permaculture designer, biodynamic practitioner, and farm/garden consultant with an approach based on soil biology. He will teach you the key to healthy soil through ecological principles of the Soil Foodweb, which is centered on biological activity of beneficial microorganisms in soil as the engine for building soil and regeneration of ecosystems. By gaining a basic understanding of the fascinating world of microbes in soil, you can apply sustainable techniques into the production and maintenance of your own soil for edible landscaping, urban homesteading, backyard farming, and victory/recession gardens.
Bring your own jar or bottle, and take away a free sample of compost tea!
